(Memphis) An Amber Alert issued for a missing 8-week-old was cancelled just hours after it was issued Thursday morning.

The baby, Adrien Delk Junior was last seen at Methodist North Hospital after midnight Thursday.

Memphis Police said the baby’s father Adrien Delk Senior dropped the baby’s mother Genesis Watson off at the Methodist North ER.

Watson was stabbed several times and police said Delk Senior left the hospital with the infant.

Greg Watson is the baby’s grandfather and Genesis’ father.

He begged for the baby’s safe return after the Amber Alert was issued around 5:00 Thursday morning.

“My plea is give the baby back, so the baby is safe. Turn your self in because this is terrible,” said Watson.

“I don't think he's stable. So anything is possible. If he would do that to my daughter there is no telling what he would do. But he's an 8 week old baby. He needs to be with his mother, he's not getting his milk and it's cold,” added Watson.

The baby was found at Delk Senior’s mother’s home in the 10000 block of Sterling Ridge in Cordova.

Police said Delk Senior surrendered peacefully and the baby was not harmed.

Genesis Watson was airlifted to the MED from Methodist North in extremely critical condition but she is improving and is expected to survive.
