High Winds Fan Flames of Grass Fires

(Arlington, TN)  Shelby County Fire Crews battled a large grass fire near Milton Wilson Rd. and Paul Barret Pkwy Tuesday night.

The fire broke out about 8:45 after a downed power line sparked the blaze with high winds feeding the flames and spreading the fire.

The fire was near a state-run health facility, which was evacuated after some residents complained of smoke. 

Those residents are being allowed back inside at this time.
