Philadelphia, PA-Grizzlies center Marc Gasol scored a team-high 27 points, but it was his last defensive play that sealed Memphis’ 103-100 victory on Monday. After Rudy Gay put the Grizzlies up by three with a stick back and two free throws in the final 13 seconds, Gasol blocked Nick Young’s potential game-tying three pointer at the buzzer. Gay scored 26 points for Memphis and Jerryd Bayless added 21 as the Grizzlies won without their starting point guard Mike Conley. The Grizzlies hope to get Conley back soon from an ankle injury he suffered early in Sunday’s loss to New Orleans. Philadelphia got 23 points from Memphian Thaddeus Young, the former Mitchell High standout. The Grizzlies are now 29-15 and play at Oklahoma City on Thursday.
