(Memphis) Thousands are expected in Downtown Memphis today to honor the legacy Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. left on city, state and nation.

This year’s “King Day” celebration at the National Civil Rights Museum will focus on education.

The museum opens at 8 a.m.

Admission is $3. It is $2 if you bring a donation for the food bank. Admission is free for up to four people if you donate a pint of blood to LifeBlood at its mobile center.

The annual parade starts at 10:30 a.m. at the corner of Main and Auction and ends at the National Civil Rights Museum.
