(Southaven, MS) Embattled Southaven Mayor Greg Davis will not run again for office.
Ever since the spending, personal and criminal allegations surrounding Southaven Mayor Greg Davis first broke years ago, his ex-wife Suzann has been silent.
Now she's talking only to News Channel 3 because of a big announcement her attorney says Davis will make Thursday.
Suzann Davis agreed to be interviewed at the home of her attorney Martin Zummach.
Zummach says there was a lot of legal activity Wednesday with motions filed showing that, in his words, the chickens are about to come home to roost for Greg Davis.
Thursday, Davis, who's already under indictment and the focus of several court cases and investigations will clear the way for someone else to soon move into the mayor's office.
Zummach said Greg Davis has made threats against him and his client, Suzann Davis, but he would not elaborate.
As for Suzann, the mother of three children who's refused interviews until tonight, she's glad her ex-husband won't be staying in public office.
Suzann Davis says "based on what I know about the investigation and my husband, it's the best decision he's made in 10 years."
Davis says since the scandals she has deliberately avoided the news media until now, but she wants her children to know the value of telling the truth.
She says the community of Southaven deserves better.
She and her attorney have a lot more to say about that and the mayor's expected announcement not to run for another term.
We'll have it all for you Thursday on News Channel 3.
