Orthopedic doctors says 80-90% of us will experience some sort of back pain at some point in our lives, but there are simple things we can do every day to prevent.it.

Spine doctors say stretching and strengthening your back helps, but say you also have to break some bad posture habits.

That includes, poor lifting, bending at the waist and slouching when you stand, sit or drive.

Dr. Keith Williams, with the Campbell Clinic, says poor posture puts stress on your joints and muscles.

He says you can prevent and alleviate the pain just by sitter straighter at your office desk every day.

“Common problems are slouching forward. You want to have your pelvis back so it is all the way back at the seat. Your head should be centered above your pelvis and your ear above your shoulder. The other important thing is to have the feet, heels flat on the floor,” said Dr. Williams.
