Judge appoints ad litem guardian for fallen officer’s children
(Memphis) – New developments in the custody hearing involving fallen Memphis Police Officer Martoiya Lang’s four children.
News Channel 3 has learned a Probate Judge has appointed a guardian ad lidem for the children.
She’s attorney Flordia Henderson and will have the responsibility of representing the kids’ interests and report back to the court.
Officer Lang’s mother, who has filed to be the girls’ legal guardian, won’t have her case heard until the end of February. In the meantime, Lang’s estranged husband has custody.
We have also learned that about 50-thousand dollars, raised from public donations made to Suntrust bank, has been deposited at probate court and the court will oversee how the funds are used.
Tuesday attorneys will take up the Lang divorce hearing that was pending before Officer Lang was shot and killed last month while serving a drug warrant.
