Grizzlies lose tough one at home to Portland
Memphis, TN-Portland TrailBlazers forward Wesley Matthews felt right at home in FedExForum as he scored 21 points to lead Portland to an 86-84 win over the Memphis Grizzlies on Friday.
Rudy Gay, who scored only two of his 19 points in the second half, missed a jumper in the final seconds that could’ve tied the game.
Filling in for Zach Randolph, who missed the game with flu-like symptoms, Mo Speights had a season-high 22 points to go with 13 rebounds.
Marc Gasol scored 12 points for the Grizzlies and Darrell Arthur added 10 points off the bench. Memphis is now 20-10 and hits the road for three games out west.
