The most popular sitcom on television is creating a buzz in the science world.

A new species of bee has been dedicated to a character on the “The Big Bang Theory.”

Jim Parsons character “Sheldon” uses the word bazinga when he tricks one of the other characters on the show.

Scientists have named the new species of bee “euglossa bazinga.”

They say the bee tricked them into believing it was not a new species.

“The Big Bang Theory” airs Thursday nights at 7 on News Channel 3.
