(FORREST CITY, AR)  Some city residents are still without power after the winter weather system moved through the area Christmas night.

Entergy Arkansas says 160,000 people are without power across the state. Most of the outages are in the central part of the state but eastern Arkansas was hit as well.

“We’ve been calling and calling and they say it could talked up to seven days”, said Cecil Lang who slept in his home with no heat Christmas night.

Entergy says the estimates of 7 days are partly due to traffic and weather conditions on I-40 which is making it tough for crews to get where they need to go.

“I just hope they do something to help us a lot faster than a week”, said Donny Parchman. He spent Wednesday night trying to save food from his refrigerator uncertain of how long his home with sit in the dark.
