Memphis, TN-The Tigers shot just 36 percent from the floor, but forced 24 turnovers to get a 62-56 win over Lipscomb Thursday night at FedExForum.
Turnovers and cold shooting haunted both teams in the first half, as both teams combined for 27 first-half turnovers. The Tigers (7-3) went without a field goal for six and a half minutes and Lipscomb went nearly seven minutes without a basket.
Sophomore forward Adonis Thomas led Memphis with 18 points while Jackson (15), Goodwin (11) and Johnson (10) also notched double figures. Chris Crawford set a career-high seven steals while Antonio Barton tied a career-high with five. Despite forcing Lipscomb into 24 turnovers, the Tigers were only able to score 13 points from Lipscomb’s errors.
Memphis will be back in action Friday, Dec. 28 when the Tigers take on Oral Roberts for a 7 p.m. contest at FedExForum.
