Southaven Mayor Greg Davis Indicted
(Desoto County, MS) News Channel 3 has confirmed Southaven Mayor Greg Davis has been indicted.

Davis was indicted by a grand jury in DeSoto County.
The indictment is for two counts of embezzlement of a public official and one count of false pretense.
The charges include using taxpayer funded gasoline in his personal vehicle, buying a car that had been leased by the City of Southaven without having the right to do so and getting a City of Southaven check for $1,000 to use for personal reasons.
The charges carry a penalty of up to 35 years in prison and $25,000 in penalties.
Sheriff Bill Rasco confirmed Davis turned himself in around 11 a.m. then posted a $3500 bond.
Under Mississippi Law, Davis can continue to serve unless he is convicted.
As News Channel 3 has been reporting, Davis has been the focus of a state investigation into spending of City of Southaven resources.
Davis has paid back $70,000 of the $170,000 which he was ordered to pay by the state.
Davis has continued to deny any wrongdoing in the case.
Greg Davis was also sued by his ex-wife who alleged his lied about his income in order.
Mississippi State Auditor Stacey Pickering said the indictments were “Just the tip of the iceberg.”
