(Toronto, Canada) A small monkey wearing a winter coat caused shoppers to do a double take in the parking lot of a busy store in Canada on Sunday.
The monkey unlocked the cage it was in and climbed out of the car while its owner was shopping.
The animal was stressed out and screamed several times.
Customers tried to calm the monkey down and bring it to a safe place.
The owner was found and captured the monkey, but police took the animal away.
They say monkeys are not legal pets and sent the animal to a sanctuary.
The owner plans to fight the ruling.
