Man Involved In Shooting at Truck Stop Heads to Court

(Memphis) A man involved in the shooting at the Love’s Truck Stop near the Airport will head to court today.

Police said W C Hampton, 32, pulled a knife on a security guard early Thursday morning.

Hampton is accused of stealing three jackets out of the store.

Police said the guard saw Hampton and attempted to stop him. That’s when police said Hampton pulled out a knife. The security guard felt threatened and shot Hampton in the leg.

Hampton is charged with aggravated assault and theft. He is in jail on $20,000 bail.
