(Memphis) In August, FedEx announced plans to offer buyouts to some of its employees over the next year.

Today, the shipping giant told affected employees one of the measures will be a buyout of four weeks of income for every year of continuous service.

The maximum buyout will be two years of base pay.

Eligible employees can start requesting their packages in February.

The company will let workers know if their agreement has been accepted no later than next May.

The buyouts are expected to be offered to employees in the Express and Services divisions.

FedEx is one of the biggest employers in the Mid-South.
