Officer Shot In Friendly Fire Incident Released From MED

(Memphis) The name of the Memphis Police Officer who accidentally shot another officer has been released.

(Memphis) Willie Bryant, a Memphis Police officer since 2003, has been released from The MED.

Bryant was shot November 8 by a fellow officer while serving a warrant.

Forty-three year-old Byron Willis shot one time toward a dog that came at the officers as they tried to serve a warrant last week.

Willis missed the dog and hit officer Bryant.

Bryant still has a long road of recovery ahead of him.
