Wild in the Streets

(Staten Island, NY)  People in a New York City suburb thought the circus was in town when they spotted a zebra and a pony running through the streets.

The animals were racing through a shopping center parking lot in Staten Island and then stopped traffic when they crossed a street.

The animals eventually stopped to nibble on plants at an outdoor garden shop.

There was no circus in town.

The zebra and pony escaped from a petting zoo.

Their owners rounded up the animals and took them back to the zoo.

The two were not hurt and did not cause any damage.
