Shots Fired at Officers near Memphis National Cemetery

It all started when officers approached a man described as a “suspicious person” near the Memphis National Cemetery.
He was seen approaching a closed business in the 3500 block of Jackson Avenue.
When an officer stepped out of his squad car and asked the man to “show his hands”, the man fired a single shot at the officer with a handgun.
The officer was not hit.
Police set up a perimeter around the cemetery to search for the man, using crews on the ground, K-9 units, and an MPD aviation unit.
Officers never found him.
