New Emergency Response Ambulance to Serve Shelby County
(Memphis) A very large ambulance is rolling around Shelby County.
With federal grant money, the Memphis Fire Department transformed a donated Mata bus into an ambulance.
The bus can transport 12 people lying down and an additional 16 people sitting up.
A bus like this typically cost around $400,000, but this bus was purchased with $40,000 in grants.
The bus has already been used for Elvis Week and for the chemical leak at FedEx.
It will serve all of Shelby County.
