Teen Murdered, Another Escapes Kidnappers in Two Separate Incidents

(Memphis) Memphis police are investigating two violent crimes against local teenagers.

16-year-old Demarco Adams was found dead in the backyard of a home on Leatherwood in East Memphis on Election Night.

19-year-old Tremarius Avant is charged with First Degree Murder in the case.

Police say Adams and Avant were involved in an ongoing disturbance at the time of the shooting.

In a separate incident, two men forced a 14-year-old into a car Thursday morning in Southeast Memphis.

The teen was near Middlesex and Goodlett when he was forced into a car and assaulted.

He managed to escape and call for help.

Police are still looking for the suspects.
