MPD Officer Accidentally Shot By Fellow Officer
(Memphis) A Memphis Police officer was shot by fellow officer in north Memphis Thursday afternoon.
Police Director Toney Armstrong said officer Willie Bryant was serving a search warrant when he was attacked by a Pit Bull.
Armstrong said another officer attempted to shoot the dog, but hit a Bryant by accident.
The shooting happened near Arrington & 7th.
The officer is listed in The MED and is in Critical condition.
Bryant was wearing a bullet resistant vest.
The other officer involved has been relieved of duty pending the outcome of the investigation.
