TSU Football Player Dies During Practice

(Nashville) A 19-year-old freshman football player at Tennessee State University died during practice on Wednesday.

Wayne Jones was from Smyrna, Tennessee and was a defensive back on the team.

Officials say Jones was tossing a football when he collapsed on the field.

Coaches could not revive him and he was rushed to the hospital.

The cause of death is not known at this time.
