Head Of Non-Profit Charged With Theft

(Tipton County, TN) The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has arrested the administrator of a non-profit organization in Tipton County.

Allen Parnelle Brown, 57, of Drummonds,TN was head of Tipton Cares.

He’s been indicted by the Tipton County grand jury on two counts of theft over $1,000 and one count of theft over $10,000.

The TBI found Brown opened a credit card for the non-profit in his name and also received a donation of a truck for Tipton Cares then gave said truck to a family member.

Also, “there was a CD transferred from Tipton Cares to an account held by Brown. The money was taken between November 2008 and June 2011 without the approval of the non-profit’s board of directors.”

Brown was booked into the Tipton County Justice Complex on $15,000 bond.
