Woman’s Death in Downtown Memphis Ruled Homicide

(Memphis) A homeless woman found dead inside the stairwell of a downtown Memphis apartment building was beaten to death.

That’s according to the Shelby County Medical Examiner.

46-year-old Connie Cox was found lying face down at the Renaissance Apartments in August.

A trail of blood was found on the stairs.

At the time, Memphis police called it a death investigation.

The case is now officially a homicide.

No one has been arrested.
