( Nashville ) The Tennessee Appeals Court rules Memphis photo library cards issued this summer can be used as valid voter identification for the November 6th election.

In an afternoon press conference, Mayor Wharton said his goal is to get as many people as possible to vote.

Late Thursday, we learned Tennessee Election officials will file an appeal with Tennessee Supreme Court Friday.

Wharton said more than 1900 of the library photo ID cards have been distributed.

Requirements for the photo library card are similar to what is needed to get a license: http://www.memphislibrary.org/files/Library%20Photo%20ID%20Identity%20Verification.pdf
