Tennessee Teacher of the Year from Memphis

(Memphis) The Tennessee Teacher of the Year is from a school in Memphis.

Allyson Chick is a third-grade teacher at Richland Elementary School.

A Memphis teacher has not received the top honor in 30 years.

Chick was recognized at a banquet in Nashville on Tuesday.

She will represent the state of Tennessee at the National Teacher of the Year competition.
