(Memphis) On the run, two men suspected of bombarding a Whitehaven home and shooting a father to death.
So far, police haven’t made any arrests and the family of the father killed says, they don’t know the attackers.
With a heavy heart, Wanda Miller sits down and tells us how her son, 33-year-old Denny Miller, was murdered in her home Saturday.
“I’m hurting, I’m hurting so bad. I don’t know why this happened,” said Miller.
She says two strange men, walked up to her Marlin Avenue porch, and asked Denny and her brother for the “lady of the house.” She wasn’t there.
“They grabbed the door, pulled it out and kicked them in.” said Miller.
“They made my grandson get on the floor,” said Gloria Johnson, Denny’s grandmother.
“They shot out my china cabinet to let them know this is serious, we aren’t playing.” Said Miller.
Denny and his uncle started fighting with the attackers.
“And they shot him multiple times,” said Johnson.
Denny tried to run down the street to his grandmother’s home, but collapsed in a neighbor’s yard. He was rushed to The MED where he later died.
“I couldn’t move I was paralyzed.” Said Johnson.
Sunday, Miller went inside her house to pick up some clothes. What she once called home is where her son was killed.
“I saw blood spattered everywhere in my house, glass broken, gun shots in my walls. I know this is what happened to my son,” said Miller.
She hopes whoever killed the father of three is caught soon.
“I just want Memphis police to find out who did this to my child,” said Miller, who is praying for strength.
“If God don’t help me through this one, I can’t make it, I can’t make it,” expressed Miller.
