Mid-South Students Learn Peacemaking Methods

(Memphis) Hundreds of Mid-South students took part in the first event of a two-day conference sharing non-violent philosophies with area youth.

More than 350 youth Bridge Builders from area middle and high schools participated in The Gandi-King Youth and Community Conference in Memphis Thursday.

Students participated in workshops that focused on ideas inspired by Mohandas K. Gandhi and Martin Luther King, Jr., such as social justice, leadership development, and peaceful conflict resolution.

The event is presented by the Mid-South Peace and Justice Center and ends Saturday with a community conference.
