(Millington, TN) – Storms ripped through the Mid-South Wednesday evening.

Millington was one of the hardest hit area.

The Millington Fire Chief says large trees fell in the Westside Mobile Home Community causing damage to more than six homes.

Thankfully, no one was injured as a result.

Graves says many of the people who lived in the community sought out safe and secure shelter when a tornado warning was issued for Shelby County.

He believes this may have saved people from injury and even death because Graves claims some of the homes hit the worst had already been evacuated.

The trees also brought down power lines, causing outages in the area.

The Millington Fire Department stabilized the area, as crews worked to cut power to downed lines and turn off natural gas pipes to damaged homes.

The Red Cross is assisting those who have been displaced by storm damage.
