Elementary School Students Attacked While Walking Home

(MEMPHIS)    Jalisha Jenkins came face to face with Levititicus Johnson recently.  

She says he followed her and her niece as they walked to a neighborhood store. 

Police say Johnson approached two young girls walking home from Vollentine Elementary School Monday, and forced them into a wooded area at the corner of Evergreen and Merchant.

Police documents state the man held the two elementary school girls at knife point.

The report says he demanded they not scream while be got on his knees unzipped one of the girl’s pants and touched her.

The report says he stated he wanted to see if she was a girl or a boy.  The girl and her younger sister fought him off and ran screaming for help. 

Police say they found Johnson a block away at his apartment.

Officers found a coat like the one he was seen wearing. Officers also reportedly found  a black knife like the one the girls described.

Officers say Johnson is a registered sex offender. He’s locked up in jail on sexual battery charges. The school system notified parents at Vollentine Elementary of the incident.
