Another Fungal Meningitis Death In Tennessee

(Nashville, TN) An 80-year-old woman from Centerville, TN is the eight person to die from fungal Meningitis.

The announcement came today as the number of people sickened has reached 105  across the country.

Four people have died in Tennessee?

So far, 35 people have been sickened.

Nine states have been affected: Tennessee, Michigan, Virginia, Indiana, Florida, Maryland, Minnesota, North Carolina and Ohio.

The fungal meningitis outbreak is tied to steroid shots for back pain made by a specialty pharmacy in Massachusetts.

The Food and Drug Administration had previously told health professionals not to use any products distributed by the center.
