Off-Duty Officer Involved in Deadly Shooting

(Memphis) Memphis Police are investigating a shooting involving one of their own officers.

Around 8 p.m. Monday, police responded to a shooting call at Wooddale and Jenkins.

When they arrived on the scene, they found an off-duty officer, along with a man suffering from a gunshot wound.

The man was transported to the Regional Medical Center where he later died.

Police said the off-duty officer was not hurt.

Police have not said what led to the shooting. and have not released the names of the deceased and the off-duty officer.

An investigation is ongoing.
