(Memphis) ORTHOMEMPHIS, a division of MSK Group, P.C., and St. Agnes Academy-St. Dominic School are proud to announce a new sports medicine partnership.
This partnership will allow athletes to optimize their sports performance through injury prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation.
With the recent partnership between ORTHOMEMPHIS and St. Agnes Academy-St. Dominic School, Katie Perkins, ATC is a new addition to the ORTHOMEMPHIS sports medicine outreach department.
She is a certified athletic trainer who will be on hand at St. Agnes Academy-St. Dominic School for practices and games. Katie spent the last 5 years with Chattanooga State Community College, Girls Preparatory School, and St. Mary’s Episcopal School.
Katie graduated from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and has clinical experience with almost every sport. She will work together with ORTHOMEMPHIS physicians and physical therapists to ensure that St. Agnes Academy-St. Dominic School athletes receive the highest quality orthopaedic care.
Matt Massey, MD was selected as the team doctor for St. Agnes Academy- St. Dominic School. Dr. Massey is fellowship trained in Foot and Ankle and Knee orthopaedic surgery from the Steadman Clinic in Vail, Colorado.
You will see him on the field for the upcoming soccer season. “As a sports medicine doctor, my experience on the field with the student athlete is critical to evaluating the injury, designing the best treatment & rehabilitation plan, and monitoring the patient’s progress,” said Dr. Massey. Orthomemphis has a strong sports medicine outreach program which partners with Christian Brothers High School, Evangelical Christian School, St. George’s Independent School, White Station High School, Collierville High School, Collierville Soccer Association, Greater Memphis Soccer Association, Memphis Dynasty Football Team, and now St. Agnes Academy-St. Dominic School.
The program provides team physician services and/or full time care to athletes with onsite athletic trainers for each partner. “We believe that fielding a team of sports medicine fellowship trained orthopaedic surgeons and full time certified athletic trainers is the best approach to caring for high school athletes” said Randy Holcomb, MD, president and managing partner of ORTHOMEMPHIS.
