(Memphis)  Jerry “The King” Lawler woke up in his own home Tuesday for the first time since he suffered a heart attack at a WWE event in Canada.

Lawler was released from Montreal’s Royal Victoria Hospital Monday, one week after he collapsed during WWE’s Monday Night Raw.

“He’s doing good,” Lawler’s girlfriend, Lauryn McBride said, “but it has been an exhausting week for both of us.”

He was flown back to Memphis in a private jet furnished by WWE’s Vince McMahon. He was accompanied by McBride and Dr. Michael Sampson, the WWE doctor who likely saved his life.

McBride also had high praise for the doctors who treated Lawler at Royal Victoria Hospital.

“The hospital we were at was in the top five in the country for cardiac care, so I don’t think we could have been in a better place,” said McBride.

McBride says Lawler has an appointment today with a cardiologist at the Sutherland Clinic.
