(Millington) Neighbors woke up to emergency vehicles and crime scene tape at Southern Meadows Mobile Home Park.
Inside one of the units, deputies found 30-year-old Shaneca Webber dead.
“We just seen a body come out is all we seen. Don’t know much,” says William Abbott, who was visiting the Mobile Home Park Wednesday morning.
The Shelby County Sheriff’s Department says Webber’s father called 911 just before 6 am.
Deputies arrived at 6349 Seaweed Drive and found Webber’s body, with several blows to the head.
Four people were in the mobile home.
All four, including Webber’s father, were detained for questioning.
But no one was arrested.
“It’s kinda scary. What’s next?” says neighbor Jennifer Dennis.
Another neighbor, Tamara Stewart, had just seen the father moments earlier.
“He was getting ready for work, putting his lunch pail and stuff he carries to work everyday in the truck. There was nothing there then. About 10 minutes later when I came out to leave all the Shelby County vehicles were out there,” says Stewart.
Neighbors aren’t sure how many people lived at the house, but say there had been a lot of activity when a younger son and a cousin moved in.
“We know that a life has been taken and we are questioning some individuals who were at the scene and might shed some light on what happened here,” says Chip Washington, spokesperson for the Shelby County Sheriff’s Department.
Washington says they are hoping to make an arrest by Wednesday evening.
