Shooting At Convenience Store

A shooting at a convenience store in Orange Mound resulted in a man being taken to The MED in critical condition.

A-1 Grocery is located at 2408 Park Ave.

People in the neighborhood gave different accounts of what happened, but all agree the owner fired one shot into the ground. Witnesses said the bullet then bounced and hit the customer in the head.

Some people told News Channel 3 they associate that location with violence, but others said they have no problems with the owners.

Steve Braden, who has been going to this convenience store for 20 years, said the owners would never shoot at a customer.

Braden also said he saw the owner and another employee helping the victim by using a towel to apply pressure to the wound.

Memphis police have not confirmed any details of what happened, including whether anyone has been arrested in this case.
