Small Plane Crash Sends Pilot to The MED

(Tillatoba, MS) A plane crash in Yalobusha County, Mississippi sends the pilot to The Med.

 Sunday night at 9:30 p.m., a Cessna C210 leaving Triangle North Executive Airport in Louisburg, N.C. to Memphis International Airport, diverted to Water Valley Municipal Airport due to weather.

The airplane crashed 10 miles southwest of the airport in Tillatoba, MS.

The Yalobusha Co Sheriff’s department received several calls from people saying they heard a loud crash.

Due to the weather, sheriff’s deputies had to suspend their search.

Once the weather cleared the search was continued and the pilot was found trapped inside of the wreckage.

The pilot, Kenneth Byrd, was cut out of the wreckage.

 He suffered several broken bones and is in critical condition at The MED. 

 The FAA is investigating the accident.
