Storms Trigger Warnings & Clearing of Liberty Bowl

(Memphis) Strong storms moved through Mid-South Saturday night triggering Tornado warnings and numerous severe thunderstorm watches.

When a Severe Thunderstorm Warning was issued for Shelby County and lightning go too close, the Liberty Bowl stands were cleared during the Tiger Football opener.

Some reports of minor wind damage were reported.

Flood waters in the parking lot of the Shops at Saddle Creek getting knee-deep in some areas. No stores reported water damage.

At one point, more than 4800 MLGW customers were without power.

The Tiger football game resumed after a two-hour and forty minute delay, unfortunately the Tigers lost 20-17 in the very few, last, tense minutes.
