Man In Hardeman Co. Seen Taking Pics Of Kids Getting Off School Bus
(Hardeman County, TN) A man armed with a camera and unclear intentions has left a lot of parents around Hardeman County uneasy.
The school district urges parents to remain vigilant.
“We should take notice of it,” said Lorene Peeler who has grandchildren in the district.
‘Observe and Report’ is the alert from the Hardeman County Board of Education.
Peeler is taking it seriously, after someone was seen taking pictures of students getting off a bus, “I am highly concerned about them.”
The alert was sent out Thursday evening after a school employee noticed someone taking the pictures. They say it was a man in a red Kia with Maryland plates.
Taking pictures in public is not illegal, but, taking pictures of children raises huge questions for many.
“Why do you want to take a picture of a child that’s not yours,” said Peeler who believes the man is up to no good.
“It chills me to the core,” said Karen Stackhouse.
She said her 14-year-old son witnessed the man taking the pictures but it didn’t dawn on him until later, “My daughter attends kindergarten and rides that bus and it really bothered him to know that someone could be taking pictures of her.”
That’s something the school district hopes to get answers to and stop any potential harm.
