(Memphis) A Thirty-two year old father is fighting for his life at the Regional Medical Center Elvis Presley Trauma Unit after a robbery in Orange Mound Friday morning.

The victim was returning to his home in the 2600 block of Select Avenue around 1:20 Friday morning.

He was with his girlfriend and two children, ages, 8 and 9 years old.

"When they pulled up and got out the car, someone came from behind the abandoned house and told them to lay down on the ground. The two men were asking him where his money and stuff was at," said one neighbor who was afraid to give her name.

"They got the keys from him and took him in the house with his kids. The gun men were ransacking his house and asking him where his money and stuff was located. He was like 'I don’t know, I don’t have any money.' And as he was getting up they just started shooting him. And they shot him like six times."

Right after the shooting, the victim's girlfriend began running door to door to wake up their neighbors.

Neighbors called 911 while they helped put pressure on the gun shot wounds.

The suspects left on foot.

Neighbors report the victim's two children were emotionally distraught.

"They were terrified. They just kept crying and saying 'my daddy, my daddy.'"

There are only vague descriptions of the shooters.

Memphis Police said the men left on foot.

They are looking for any one who might have information to call Crime Stoppers at 901-528-CASH.
