Woman Charged With Killing Her Children’s Father

(Memphis) A 25-year-old mother faces murder charges for allegedly stabbing her children’s father to death.

22-year-old Gavin Jones was found dead inside Alisha Saine’s home in the 900 block of North McNeil in the Vollintine-Evergreen neighborhood around 12:15 a.m. Wednesday.

Police say Jones went to her home and an argument ensued. During the fight, police say Jones pushed Saine up against her fireplace. Saine allegedly responded by stabbing him in the chest with a kitchen knife.

Dispatchers say Saine called 911 to report Jones’ death and asked them not to tell police about the stabbing.

Police say the two have a long history of domestic violence and that Saine was on diversion for aggravated assault against Jones when this stabbing happened.
