Longtime ALSAC/St. Jude Executive Dies in Car Accident
(Memphis) David McKee, the former Chief Operating Officer of ALSAC, the fundraising organization of St. Jude Children’s Research hospital, has died.
McKee died Friday from injuries sustained in a car accident.
He spent 35 years at ALSAC before retiring in June.
McKee joined the ALSAC staff in 1977 as director of the Atlanta region before moving to the National Executive Office in 1982.
In 2000, he was appointed chief operating officer.
He also served as interim CEO for a short time.
Last year, McKee was given the Lifetime Achievement Award by “Fundraising Success” magazine for his devotion to St. Jude.
Funeral arrangements have not been announced.
