(Memphis) "It's kind of at first hard to believe that it's happened to you," said Pastor L.C. Marr.
Pastor Marr is talking about the A/C theft at his church.
Places of worship have become copper mines for criminals.
"They have no respect, no regard, no honor for the things of God or the people of God like they used to," said Marr.
The New Life Community Church in Whitehaven is now holding services and bible studies in the heat and dealing with replacing three 12-ton A/C units at a cost of $60,000.
"Sixty thousand dollars that you didn't plan for in your budget but thank God for insurance!" he said.
News Channel 3 has covered multiple stories where thieves have targeted churches for copper and Pastor Marr says the two churches next door on East Holmes Rd. have both been hit in the last year, "I think about the ones that don`t have insurance."
While the pastor says he hopes the criminals get caught, the man of God also prays they get help, "All we can really do is attack the problem one person at a time."
