Judge Says Greg Davis Can Get Check For Now

(Jackson, MS) A judge has granted a restraining order that will allow Southaven Mayor Greg Davis to keep collecting his paycheck.

As we reported last week, the Mississippi State Auditor plans to garnish Davis’s paycheck to get $73,000 the state believes it is owed, due to unaccounted for spending by Davis.

Mississippi Auditor Stacey Pickering told News Channel 3 Davis has repaid $96,000 of $170,000 he was ordered to pay.

Davis sued to stop the garnishment.

A hearing is scheduled for next Thursday at 9 a.m.

The Southaven Board of Aldermen has scheduled a special meeting for Saturday.
