(Southaven, MS) Southaven Mayor Greg Davis is asking for a temporary restraining order in an effort to stop the State of Mississippi from garnishing his paychecks.

The Hinds County Chancery Court told us the petition was filed and is more than 100 pages long.

The Commercial Appeal reports a hearing on the matter is scheduled Thursday in Jackson, MS.

As we reported last week, the Mississippi State Auditor plans to garnish Davis’s paycheck to get $73,000 the state believes it is owed, due to unaccounted for spending by Davis.

Mississippi Auditor Stacey Pickering told News Channel 3 Davis has repaid $96,000 of $170,000 he was ordered to pay.
