(Southaven, MS)  Mayor Greg Davis is repeatedly cited as defrauding the City of Southaven and the board of Aldermen, in a lawsuit filed by Mississippi State Auditor Stacey Pickering.

The lawsuit demands the mayor pay back money he is accused of misspending.

According to the lawsuit, in April of 2010, the mayor and his former wife went to Key West, Florida for five days.

The lawsuit says they spent almost 65-hundred dollars.

“We were told a GM dealership was coming to Southaven, we had an empty space we needed to fill, the argument was valid”, said Alderman Ronnie Hale, who voted to approve the trip.

According to the lawsuit, GM didn’t have any workers in Key West that week, and never met with Davis.

According to the lawsuit, Davis gave false and misinformation to the aldermen, and provided details that couldn’t be verified.

According to the suit, Davis “intentionally and willfully withheld this information in order to defraud the city of Southaven and receive public monies to which he was not entitled.”

Alderman Hale is just happy the auditor has now put in writing what he says he’s believed and has been saying for months.
