Mother Charged After Children Found Dead In Smyrna Car

(Smyrna, TN) The mother of two children found dead in a car Thursday has now been charged by police.

Samantha Harper was arrested and charged with two counts of Especially Aggravated Child Abuse.

She is currently being held at the Rutherford County Detention Center and may face other charges.

Thursday afternoon, Smyrna Police were called to a home at 9584 Old Nashville Highway.

Two children had been found dead after being left inside a vehicle.

How the children, 3-year-old Daniel Marise and 2-year-old Savannah Marise, ended up in the car is not clear at this time.

Temperatures at the time the children were found were in the mid 90′s.
