(Memphis) Memphis Police say they have a person of interest in custody for the shooting death of a 47-year-old woman in Hickory Hill.

The woman was found in the back bedroom of a home at 6390 Hunter’s Place Drive Friday at midnight.

Family of the victim said her name is Brenda Suggs, a mother of nine.

Her daughter Laquita Westbrook told News Channel 3 her mother was with family Thursday evening when she left to get ice and never returned.

Family received word that their mother was at the Hunter’s Place address and rushed to the scene. That’s where paramedics pronounced her dead.

“There was anything we could not ask her for that she wouldn’t do.She loved us and her grandkids and everybody that ever come in contact with her fall in love with my mom, “said Westbrook.

Westbrook claims the man being held in for her mother’s murder is her mother’s estranged husband.

Westbrook said her mother was married to the man for 13 years but the couple recently separated.

Memphis Police have not released any names and have not filed any charges when this article was posted.
