Arrest Made In 19 Germantown Burglaries In One Night
(Germantown, TN) Germantown police have two men in custody after a string of auto and home burglaries over the weekend.
John Machen and Joseph Lossing are charged with the burglaries and Germantown police say they are linking the two to a total of 19 burglaries in one night.
Between Saturday night and a Sunday morning, police say there were seventeen car break ins two home burglaries and one building burglary.
Police were called to the 1400 block of Brookside when someone heard a noise and saw someone in their house.
Police say when they got there, they found Machen hiding in a flower bed.
Officers then saw Lossing just down the street.
They say he was trying to break into a gate.
Police say they found stolen items on them linking the men to the other burglaries.
Tara Browning lives in poplar estates and was a victim of Saturday nights burglaries, “We came over and found my car unlocked and they had gone through all of our stuff and then the saw that my storage room off my car port. The door was ajar.”
She says this is the third time her home or car has been broken into.
Browning says she’s locking all of her doors now and event put up a security door.
But despite the burglaries she feels safe because of the police response.
Lossing and Machen are being held on $100,000 bond each and possible face additional burglary charges.
