Series Of Midtown Robberies
(Memphis) Victims of Midtown robberies are looking at pictures of suspects in hopes they can help police catch the men they say have been terrorizing the area over the past two and a half weeks.
Lindsey Jordan was held at gun point after she parked her car at her home on Faxon Monday night, “All the sudden he ran up put the gun to my head and said ‘give me all of your stuff’. I looked at him ‘do I know this man’ and I was like take it.”
She said the suspect got away with cash, credit cards and her cell phone but she was not injured.
Andrew Gowen had a similar run in just the morning before Jordan and he said someone was hurt, “We got out of the car and the guy came out of no where pointed the gun at us and told us to give him every thing. He actually hit her in the head with his gun.”
Memphis Police released information to the media saying there had been 9 robberies in the North Midtown area.
However, Jordan said she heard a different story from detectives, “There has been 16 robberies over here. when I was in the police department office yesterday he pulled up all the robberies over here.”
Another victim was shot in the stomach, one had a bottle slammed over his head and several teens were forced to the ground at gun point, all since June 24th.
Jordan wishes she had been warned a few days earlier. “I would have been a little more aware of it most definitely.”
Descriptions of the suspects are so vague, they aren’t of much help.
Anyone with information on the suspects is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 528-CASH>
